2008 Iowa Web Awards Schedule

Here is the schedule for the 2008 Iowa Web Awards…

We are currently taking ideas and suggestions for the categories that will be voted on here.

August 27th: Official Categories will be announced
August 27th: Begin taking nominations for each category
September 2: Nominees will be announced and voting begins
September 9: Winners Announced

We are working on some sort of awards ceremony right now - if this pans out we will announce next week.

Contribute to Iowa Web Awards

As we have found out the best way to build a website is to let the community help out. Here’s what we need from you.

1. Logo submissions - We need a snazzy logo to go with our shiny new website. If you are a designer and want to submit something for us to look at please email andy[at]48WebConsulting.com. Once we get a few submissions, we’ll let the community vote on them. The lucky winner will get credit in the footer and their very own blog post with super linkage to their website/portfolio.

2. Let us know what categories you want to see voted on here. Once we have a solid list of categories, we’ll open up the nominations.

3. As I mentioned in #2, the community will nominate all the websites/companies/etc for each category.

4. Once all the above nominees have been submitted and decided upon, you will vote on who wins in each category. Simple, right?

5. Discuss on Twitter using the #IowaWebAwards hashtag

6. Tell all your friends!

We hope to start voting for the 2008 Iowa Web Awards in early September, but we need YOU to help out! We hope you enjoy this project!

Iowa Web Awards has launched!

Welcome to the new Iowa Web Awards… If you haven’t read our about page, here is the jist of the site:

Inspired by the Webby awards we want to do what we do best - build a hyper-local version around our community. With that idea and inspiration, the Iowa Web Awards was conceived.

The goal is to not only recognize the hard work of our local Iowa internet stars - but to bring a broader audience to recognize their efforts.

We are currently coming up with categories and building a way for you to nominate your favorite internet experiences here in Iowa.
